An NK style military parade down the streets of DC? Why? Stupid idea than nobody thought was important until Trump suggested it. Now that he said it, according to loyalists, if someone opposes the idea then they must hate America, right? Sad times indeed if that is the case.

Born & raised, same as you. But the hills haven't closed in on me, clouding my ability to think. Yes we've had giant victory parades as a communal expression of national pride after great victories. Parades because the boss thinks it's a good idea? Tin-pot, third-world stuff. At least one GOP Senator agrees with me. Another sign of slippage in our once-great ability to tell the important from the unimportant.

A parade is a celebration, an honoring, the sharing of something that the community values. Many of us here, apparently not you, value our military and our capability. Our military is doing an outstanding job for the nation, what is wrong with honoring them with a parade? The military is about winning, apparently something that is alien [like that word] to you of the NSAWP. If the NSAWP held a parade, you would "honor" homosexuals, illegal aliens, the All Criminals Love Us crowd, politicians like Barry, Nancy, Chuckie who want this great nation to go down to the level of the 3rd world. RINO'S and NSAWP are close kin, kind of an inbreeding of sorts.

In years past parades were held in this country to celebrate things that really mattered ... like winning a war, advancements that put men in space, etc. to just jump up and have a parade for some manufactured reason ... it is just stupid. Let's go do something that really matters as a nation ... like actually finishing and winning the war we are in. Then we'll have a reason for everyone to join in a parade down Pennsylvania Boulevard. Until then, take that manpower and put it to use doing something useful, like repairing and building infrastructure, etc. in this nation. That'd be nation building worth supporting and celebrating. Gay Pride Parades all across the country, Million Moms, Million Man, Million Queers. Million this, that, and all the "marches on DC" are all good. Doesn't matter that security and clean-up alone cost the taxpayers millions every year.
Let the CiC showcase and honor our Armed Forces and suddenly it's on par with NK, the Soviet Union, Red China etc? WTF? The lefties extrapolate the costs as if the vehicles are running on fuel prices paid at the local BP station on the corner. The cost of meals and lodging for each branch as if they aren't being fed and lodged already...the list goes on.

Nobody will show up for the parade? I doubt it. A military parade will bring in as much economic stimulation (if not more) than many other parades held each year. Personally I'd like to see it evolve into an extravaganza on par with the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Much better for all of us than some of these so-called parades which encourage regendering and teenaged cock sucking.

Ok guys fall in I have some news for you. You are going to march or ride in a parade in DC. The groaning and bitching have just begun. While the idea is interesting I don't support it because of logistics and expense involved if you want to bring in a lot of troops into DC or you just use the troops located around the swamp. A small parade in DC will require hours of practice and mill around time for the troops involved.

To have a really big show like in Red Square of in NK you have to bring in a lot of troops and since most of our bases are far away it would be costly again unless you use all the HQ type troops already in the area.

It would still be stupid if it could somehow be done at no cost to the gov't. But to squander the $10-15 MILLION it's estimated to cost??? Absolutely crazy. Save it for the Wall, or any other useful purpose.

If a military parade could somehow nullify or terminate all these left-wing celebrations, it would be worth whatever it cost, but instead, it will merely add to the deficit. Don't forget, furthermore, that far from being any opponent of Gay Pride, the DOD has welcomed them into the ranks, and resisted in every way possible Trump's order to stop enlisting transfreaks. If Obama was Sec. of Defense, DOD couldn't be any more fag-friendly.

First of all it should have been titled as a commemoration of the end of WW-1. Everybody is fed, housed etc. and on the payroll. Might need to entrain some armored vehicles. Most of the expense is already paid for anyway.

Too late to call it a commemoration of WWI after Trump already said he wanted to replicate the parade he saw in France--which was spectacle for the sake of spectacle.

According to what I've heard, cost is being estimated on the basis of cost of the "Victory Parade" thrown by George the First; that was something to shout about--the beginning of 17 yrs of war.

The first thing I thought of when I head of this idea was the Soviet military parades. Just as others have said, a non-commemorative parade of military might is a bad idea, and will only give the Trump haters something additional to shout about.

Wining a war - that's a good reason to have a parade - but we're still at war.

Flexing your muscles - not a good reason to have a parade. Puts one in mind of crackpot military dictators in Africa or North Korea. Trump, in my humble (but correct) opinion, is not a crackpot military dictator, and doesn't want to be.

Someone to whom he listens (Ivanka, perhaps) needs to give him a reality check.

I am a Trump supporter, but not a blind worshipper at his alter. The man has faults, but is vastly preferable to any democrat alternative, much less the Wicked Witch of the Left.

Having said that, don't let me start ranting about better republican alternatives. Trump is what we have, and we (and the country) can live with him.
