Who's leading the opposition to CC reciprocity?

No surprise, unless your head's way up your AH: organized police associations, esp. city police chiefs. Report on tonight's CBS 60 Minutes said (approvingly, of course!) that police chiefs are leading the fight right now to defeat the bill in the Senate, which has already passed the house.

PLEASE don't tell me that so & so city cop is your best shooting buddy! I don't dispute it! But you should have the brains to realize he represents a small minority within his profession.

McLure Volkmer was passed in '87 and if you are flying to Africa for once in a lifetime safari don't fly through Chi or NYC. They just ignore it.

Most states have reasonable but varying self defense laws, especially outside of your domicile. Not all. I would be scared to pop a cap on a well deserving scumbag in NY or Chi. Fall of '12 a junkie threatened to kill me, right on Michigan Ave by the Water Tower mid day. Here I could legally kill him. There I bet if he pulled a knife and stabbed me it would be "well, ....".

There is also the question of what would we lose? McClure Volkmer resulted in a permanent limit on the number of full autos. As I said, the travel protection isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
So we get theoretical reciprocity and the 'Rats get? National registration? NY/Chi/D.C. style permitting?

"Police Chiefs" = The National Association of Chiefs of Police which is a cleverly disguised PAC for politically appointed top cops. I can still recall the heavy handed cold calls soliciting for donations. The, "We're cops and you're going to regret not giving" type of leaning. However, in return they'll give you a Nat-Ass CoP sticker to display next to your license plate! As if that will prevent a LEO from pulling you over...Hah!
