Just a CNN web story, but possibly a guy who can keep his head in a tight situation. Nothing wrong with that!
Hope this LEO catches on with a new department

Sounds like a lot to be learned . It was said Williams firearm was unloaded , was that determined by Mader or an after the fact finding ? If it was after the fact , seems he may have put himself and fellow officers in jeopardy . Are the other allegations against him true ? I did see they stated the lady was declared naturally dead by emergency responders , so he gets a break for that one .
i would guess we would have to assume he proved his no shoot decision to have been justified in court , but certainly wasn't presented in the article .

What difference does it make? The man was objectively NOT a threat, and should not have been shot.Comment

Good man. Good decisions. The other officers ... nope. Glad the city gets to cut him a check. Should have been more money. Sincerely. bruce." Unlike most conservatives, libs have no problem exploiting dead children and dancing on their graves."Comment

I saw nowhere it stated as to how he knew the weapon was unloaded . If Williams was toting a revolver and Mader was close enough to see it was unloaded , yeah , he was clearly NOT a threat . If he was toting a pistol. There was no way to determine he was not a threat until after the fact . So that would make a difference as to his call being sound .
There may have been actions that lead to Maders call , you and I were not there , and the article did not clarify if it was an empty weapon that made his decision or Williams actions , which would still be a crap shoot as to whether he was a threat or not .
Basically I'm saying there are too many unknowns to jump on a band wagon . But if you want to beat the drums and bash the symbols , have at it .
