Well Well Well .... there is hope yet

Finally ... after the never ending nastiness thrown at others both publically and through PMs .....for no other reason than a opposing viewpoint ... the man gets banned .

the thread that started it all could have been interesting ... but sorry Sysad ... your input at the end of the closed thread deserves a thought... and I quote you ....

There were as many reasons for the Civil War as there were people involved. My own ancestors were plantation owners at the time and one was quoted as saying, "I would not lift a finger to defend slavery but will fight to the death for States Rights". Others were motivated by money, others by fear of change and probably a thousand reasons we will never know. One thing I do know, though, is that I will not have it start a Civil War here. "

Sorry Sysad... but if your ancestor was a plantation owner that worked slaves... dollars to donuts that he'd "lift a finger" to defend slavery ... regardless of his quote ...

no intention of disrespect here .... just saying

So Red is banned - that's very unfortunate. Hope the PC contingent is happy now.

I only read the closed thread with some replies reportedly deleted. Was Red the only one chucked into the penalty box? Hmmm...after being shoved into "angry mode" by recent local events I had better watch my words.
Only bright light in 72 hours has been the birth of my grand daughter Monday evening. That and the rounds of scotch shared with the neighbors while outside shoveling snow.

with the things red has posted before, to actually get banned it had to be nasty.

Wish it were just the penalty box, but his profile now says "banned" not "suspended".

            Congratulations on the new granddaughter.

That's too bad. Red always has an interesting perspective in spite of his choice of words.

I expect the ban is temporary. I feel a little sorry for him, but not too much, being often enough on the receiving end. Rules are rules, however; the gloves are back on.

Very much regret to read that the admin. found such a decision necessary. Hope with time Red can return. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

Oh, well ... lay your pecker out on the sidewalk & sooner or later someone's gonna step on it. Don't think for a moment he wasn't aware of the pending outcome.

                          No sympathy.
