The demonstrations could be brief and small but the media would play it up like WW111 is upon us. They are eating it up. I have Direct TV with a DVR. I don't watch any of the free TV channels and get the news I want off the internet mostly. I don't watch this krap.

In 1968 we lost the manufacture of full automatic weapons to make streets safe. In 1994 the Assault Weapons/large capacity act to make streets safe. So far how are the laws doing? You guys are missing one important item and that is returning veterans who have taken up arms and don't want to lose this right...this could be our ace in the hole. We must not let the left win by using emotional argument, we must maintain our standing with reason. Today I shut down one who was using "For the children's sake!" when otherwise then full confiscation she could not come up with a law that could have been used. America is different due to our freedom's, we must continue to pound these freedom's at every turn, at every opportunity.

yup, if it was for the sake of the children, we would have 30mph or less speed limits everywhere, interstates included. ive brought that up to liberal whackjobs before, and all they can do is stammer and start saying how important their cars are. it has nothing to do with the kids, it is only about forwarding their agenda.

What you're saying is sheer ignorance. The 28 parents aren't involved. It's the brainless, incoherent, rants of high-school brats being raved up & egged on by the news media. Particularly edifying was the frenzied girl with the shaved head who screamed that "mental illness" had nothing to do with this tragedy; but with parents who'd tolerate such an appearance, she's probably not to blame.

Think of it--vehicular deaths & injuries brought down to almost zero. During WWII the nation-wide speed limit was only 45, ostensibly to save gas. But where convenience is concerned, preventable deaths can be tolerated.

Excellent idea. 30 MPH speed limit - get caught breaking it and you lose driving privileges forever.

                Don't forget:

No red meat - get caught eating a hamburger and you are allowed to purchase only for government stores. Get caught twice and you go to jail for life - on a healthy diet.

All guns, knives, baseball bats, sticks, etc. banned. Get into a fist fight and have both hands amputated.

No drugs of any kind - because they can be abused, and besides, it's natural to let diseases progress.

No tobacco, pot, or anything else that might possibly hurt you.

It's for the children, and if it saves one life (no matter how many other people die) it's worth it.

Sorry Clinton ..... 28 parents of 14 dead children are more than involved..... they are the very heart of this whole discussion....

"frenzied girl" .....? brainless incoherent rants of a high school brat ....?

you ever been a child in a school where 17 people you know were murdered... ?

have you ever seen death at all ..... ? ... I think not

I don't think its my ignorance thats showing... so much as yours

Not everyone had a car. No new cars were available to just anyone who might want one. Old cars had to stay on the road. Tires were all but unavailable. No point in wearing out what was already on there. Gas and oil were rationed. Most people couldn't go very far. Old roads (no interstates then) barely being maintained. No small wonder the ones who could drive didn't drive too fast anyway.

That was the real reason for the speed limit. Even with the war, there was never any significant domestic gas shortage, but sources of new rubber had been completely cut off.

Children? They'll be voting in a year or two (unfortunately). But if they are children, why are their hysterics being taken seriously by anyone, interviewed on TV as if they were distinguished political & legal experts?

So screaming hysterics is the new manliness; well, I can believe it, as it's by no means stranger than public schools flying the BLM flag, the transfreak phenomenon, and countless other perversities not only accepted but honored in popular culture.
