    Seems to be carrying things a little too far don't ya think ?

    In 1775 the British in Boston wanted to ban flintlocks. History repeating itself.

        Of course they did.
        I'm sure we'd have banned Germany and Japan from having guns
        in WW2 if we could have.

            They tried to ban Germany from having guns-the Versailles Treaty limited the Reichswehr to 100,000 12 year volunteers, no reserves, no Air Force, the Kriegsmarine to 15,000 men, no submarines. An international gun ban only works when someone is willing to enforce it.

              Years ago, they reenacted the Normandy landings on Chicago's Lakefront. Permits were granted and security was in place. There was a bit of an uproar when a few of Chicago's Finest demanded to see the reenactor's gun registrations. It didn't go very far but they ruined the mood.
