Death by a thousand little sanctions ...

No matter how many sanctions they dump on North Korea
there are always more in the cupboard it seems.
    So here come another lot.
Beats the Hell out of me as to why we don't dump the whole
bloody lot on them and be done with it. This little bit at a
time just gives them time to adjust instead of crippling them.
Little fat bad haircut boy is not so daft as everyone thinks
he is. He still has his nukes and after all is said and done,
he'll still have his nukes. Sanctions be damned. China and
Russia are sneakily doing business with him as usual so
all we're really doing is - huh, I don't know what the Hell
    we're doing.

When you use force, use overwhelming force. When you use sanctions, use overwhelming sanctions.

NK gets anything and everything they want from China. China has already been caught in the act and there's no telling what the Russians and others are selling them.

There was the threat of Phase2...so that should scare the heck out of them. Kidding aside, it's probably better to do something than nothing even if it's only to establish a track record.

so long as china keeps supplying them with everything, sanctions do no good.

DT I was thinking the same thing. I mean, to be a fly on the wall in the sanctions planning meeting, right?

"Oh no, let's not go that far, not yet. Save that sanction for the next round if this one doesn't work. Agreed?"

It doesn't make a ton of sense to me either.

We should do to North Korea what my wife said we should have done to Afganistan, Iraq, and Iran (before the Bush/Obama useless war). "Glass the entire country."

I have no problem with this. If we did it once we would never have to do it again and probably have no more conflicts with anyone ever again. I wish we had carpet bombed Japan with nukes at the end of WW2 but we only had the 2 bombs at the time.

When I see NK having their propaganda displays and ceremonies with the thousands of people and their latest and greatest China and Russian weapons I think about a single MOAB taking care of everything for a 2 mile radius.
