It is NOT part of their religion. Female circumcision is an African custom, found among tribes such as the Kikuyu, which was adopted by Arab traders.
Male circumcision is part of their religion and part of the Jewish religion. -
Hardly much of an excuse--and it never would have been adopted if it didn't fit in nicely with their general attitudes toward women. "Why didn't we think of this first!" is what those Arab traders must have said when they discovered this abomination.
Supposedly more prevalent in Egypt than anywhere else.Comment

Next time have someone read you the article before spouting your pro-Muslim drivel.The Islamic Central Council of Switzerland (IZRS) has defended the practice of female genital mutilation (FGM), claiming that Islamic law justifies the practice.
The organisation released an “Islamic legal opinion” this week arguing that a form of so-called “female circumcision”, involving the removal of parts of the genitals, is justified, Swiss newspaper Tages Anzeiger reports.Comment

What's good about this "legal opinion" is that it puts on record their TRUE attitude, undisguised by phony denials. In other Islamic countries like Egypt, the practice is "officially" banned--mainly to placate Western critics--but goes on unabated because no one is prosecuted for doing it.Comment
