Surprised the story didn't end with the Good Samaritan being shot by police before he could explain what he was doing.

Forgive me. I've been working on some attention getting headlines for fliers to be posted at various lodges in our district. Something to pop amidst the usual bulletin board clutter. (Yellow paper, Snappy bold header etc.) I was still in that frame of mind.

The story is a good one and was surprised to see it on Chicago TV. BTW, the victim is recovering and the bad guy is still locked up.
