    Los Angeles' 58,000 homeless ...

Ain't got no home, ain't got no car, ain't got
much of nuttin - But they sure got an I-phone.
That is the one thing they can't do without.

I'm beginning to suspect I'm the only person in America
    who doesn't own an I-phone.
5 year old kids have them. Derelicts have them.
Maybe Cadavers and dogs have them, but I don't.
Together with drugs, I-phones are the addictions
that will probably cause more deaths than a good old
    fashioned world war.

Late one morning while driving around the area of Rodeo Dr. we saw homeless people of all ages/species crapping under every bush, sleeping on benches, etc.

No I phone here, the only reason I went cellular/wireless is because the phone company missed several repair calls.

I have the cheapest phone Wal Mart sells -- and can only use it when in town or travelling -- there's no cell phone service at my farm.

But I noticed this in the article

Abou-Daoud says, he can no longer count on the police for help; unless there’s an imminent threat to safety, he contends, they don’t respond quickly and can’t just haul the person away. So he’s had to take matters into his own hands, literally, by physically ejecting problematic homeless people himself. That’s why he has the gloves — to keep his hands clean.
Here we have a poor immigrant not being protected by the police! In Kalifornia, no less.

Btw, the name means "Father of David" and he is probably a Christian Arab.

Do you mean THAT David ? That would make him really old.

Be interesting to see if some public health crisis develops from these "people" sneering at basic ideas od sanitation.

If you throw sunflower seeds out in the yard you can expect to get pigeons. I saw where 1/3 of the homeless in the US live in California. It's kind of warm and they feed them.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

The city and county must find a way to balance effectively the needs and rights of homeless people against the demands and expectations of everyone else.
Yes, the homeless have "needs and rights" but those not homeless have "demands and expectations".

California has reaped what it has sowed. No sympathy for the people of California.

I have more sympathy for the homeless.

No -- younger generation. Christian Arabs often use Jewish or Christian names. Similar to Northern Ireland, where Protestants give their children English names, and Catholics use Irish names,
