Back in Handel's day it was the Male who after
undergoing a non surgical castration, sang Castrato.
They had fantastic voices and singers like Farrinelli
were popular with the society Ladies because they
could not get them pregnant.
Now the roles are reversed and Women are singing
the male roles, and still cannot get pregnant.
Opera may never be the same again.
