    Age Discrimination

I was thinking. These rotten companies that are not selling rifles to eighteen to twenty year olds could be setting the corporations up for mega-large law suits. It is legal under congressional law and the laws of the legislatures of the fifty States for that age group to buy rifles in whatever form and yet they are discriminating against them due to age.

Perhaps a photogenic, clean cut, pro-inalienable rights minded, african descent, eighteen year old female could walk into on of the Dicks stores and be denied from her right to bear arms solely by age. Then sue the pants off of them.

    Just thinking out loud.

Let me ask you this -- a baker refuses to make a cake for a gay wedding, and gets sued. Discrimination against gays.

So how come a business with an FFL that refuses to sell a gun to a person who's legally entitled to buy one can't be sued under the same logic.

Why don't the liquor and beer companies set 21 as the purchase age ?

Technically if the government doesn't trust its citizens to own a gun till they are 21 they shouldn't draft or require selective service registration till age 21 as well otherwise an underage "child" may have a gun in his hands. Gosh !!!!

We're talking about an AR15. The military uses the M16 of course so the minimum age should be much higher even. Maybe 35 in a liberals eyes.

I was thinking along the same discrimination lines.

Maybe only old people should be legally able
              to drink, vote, buy guns.
The world would be a much better and safer place.

Well the usual take around here on kids these days holds that they ain't what they used to be, by some distance. By that logic a minimum age gives them a chance to grow up.

I am 68, I see plenty of "senior citizens" who are adults only in the chronological sense.

Speaking on behalf of me, as a qualified oldster,
I have guns but have never shot anybody.
                      I've always voted correctly (Republican)
                      I haven't been drunk since I was 17.

Haven't heard of the alcohol companies announcing no sales to under 21s. The phone companies haven't addressed the problems caused by teens texting while driving.

Maybe he will succeed. But, doubt it. My personal experience is only my personal experience, but when it was just about impossible to find much less buy .22LR ammunition, I went into a local LGS where they had CCI Blazer on the shelf ... 500rd. bricks for $17.99/ea. Store policy was one brick per week. Fine. I bought a brick. The following week, I bought a brick. The next week, the owner said he would no. Not wait. Just no. Had a chat with a lawyer friend just to see if that sort of thing was legal. His response was ... the owner would almost certainly win. Of course no fool would take such a thing to court. But I did find the answer problematic. I thought that a retailer had to sell to a buyer if offering a product to the general public for sale. Hopefully this will apply to the above incident. From m perspective as a layman, it should apply. Maybe the judge in this case will be a conservative. Sincerely. bruce.

For whatever reason they want 18 years old to think of themselves are kids....but when it’s time to serve and protect the country, 18yro are grown enough.
