In Mass Shootings Mental Health Issues...

...may not be the best predictor. This is an interesting read and it raises some interesting questions. I am posting this without comment.

Nikolas Cruz, who methodically went up and down the hallways of his former Florida high school last week, killing 17 people, had a history of troubling, violent behavior.

Here's the problem -- the vast majority of people with mental illness are no more likely to commit a crime than you or I. Simply banning and stigmatizing people with mental illness is like banning and stigmatizing people with slight physical imperfections -- it violates the rights of a lot of people and doesn't help the problem at all.

Perhaps if drug use was made a mental health issue, and psychotropic drugs became a method of last instead of FIRST resort...

We can't contradict those brilliant Parkland kids--they say, or rather scream, that mental health problems are a distraction invented by the NRA.

The medical establishment is polluting the developing brains of our children with chemicals that have unforeseen consequences. The collective brains of our nation's youth would be declared a superfund site if their heads were treated the same as land.

Ban the use of psychotropic drugs on children under 18 years of age.

They don't seem to work that well on people over 18, either. I think we need a nation debate on them, which starts by reading The Strange Case of Dr, Jekyll and Mr, Hyde.
