    Pussism is alive and well

Pussism never ceases to amaze me . Local news says they almost passed a law to do away with daylight savings time . Then in the same broadcast they have a shrink who offers help for people to adjust to the time change .
Really ? You need a shrink for a time change ? Wtf purpose can people this weak possibly offer ?
Only thing I can think of is another brainless democrat vote .

I HATE DST! Especially in the summer I hate it, when at 10pm--which should be NIGHT!--you can still drive without headlights. However, I could adjust to it, like so many other nasty things in life, if it was kept in force all year, instead of shifting back & forth to "real" time. What's brainless is forcing everyone to go through the stupid BS of resetting clocks & timers twice a yr!

One state in the west has already demonstrated its superior intelligence by doing away with DST.

Whether it works for a person or not may depend on where they live in their respective time zone.

Heard this on a morning radio news show. They were talking about DST, and one of them said that "only the government could come up with the idea of cutting 6 inches off one end of a blanket a sewing in back on the other end and saying that now you have a longer blanket". I agree with CH, put it one way or the other and leave it.

Daylight savings time dates back to WWI. The British wanted more work out of factory workers, and factories like the old "monitor" buildings were dependent on outside light. Britain is far north -- London is about the same latitude as the southern tip of Hudson's Bay. Spring and summer days are much longer than down here at lower latitudes. So to get more production, they introduced Double Summer Time. When the US entered the war we imitated them.

Someone needs to tell the boys in Washington that WWI is over, and we use electric lights in our factories.

I agree it is dumb , but needing someone to tell you how to deal with it ? But with technology it has became less of a pain in the ass than it was . When I have asked in the past , why we need it ? The answer I got was going to work in the dark . I looked at them and said , you got to be shieting me right ? Instead of setting the clock up or back , just set the alarm accordingly . Also , working in the dark is nothing new for our job and it is a hell of a lot better now , than it used to be . The head lamps available today make the spotlights pretty much a thing of the past , besides , most of the supervisors don't have a clue as to putting them behind you , almost everyone of them will shine them at you and on you . Anyway , that's another topic , but yeah it is dumb , but then again not so much as it used to be as the clock on the phone and computers change on their on . The use of phones has just about replaced two way radios on the jobs , time sheets , tail boards , is all being done by phone now .
So it isn't such a big deal as it used to be , at least in our profession .

People need shrinks because they keep changing the dates for the shift. Older auto-shift clocks are screwing with their heads.
If DST is so critical to some people, why have we been changing dates between February, March, and April for so many years?

No, no one needs a shrink to deal with the stress of time change, but there will be some one out there who will offer that service if someone is that goofy. All three of them.
