Wow!!! That is news... I didn't know that Bolton was the advisor that made Saddam Hussein invade Kuwait and threaten the Saudi oilfields...
You must be the new Dan Rather with a historical revelation like this there is a Pulitzer Prize is in your future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Last edited by RED; 03-23-2018, 05:22. -
What's the deal here Red? Bolton is exactly that, a derelict neocon, and I would add an unrepentant one, from the George W Bush administration--the people who ginned up the Second Iraq War. Because, well, you know, Saddam did try to kill his dad.
Bolton is yet another person to take the route from Fox to Trump's inner circle. You guys thought I was joking when I said, "let's hope the unelected producers at Fox take their responsibilities to the nation seriously." No, I'm being quite serious when I say it.Comment

Now you are really on to something. Only the good work for CNN, NBC, NYT, etc. Everybody at Fox is as a low life. Hang in there Maxine, you are a genius!
Oh, BTW... Do you and your Stooge pals really believe a meaningless private conversation between Trump and Putin is published word for word by your heroes but the earth shattering, news that is going to impeach a President is nowhere to be found because it is a "secret?"Last edited by RED; 03-23-2018, 05:14.Comment

Some people say that it's unusual for a President to outsource his policy apparatus to the opinion programming of a cable network. But then again Trump promised to be a different kind of President, and as he instructs us, being Presidential is boring.
From Twitter this AM:
Nobody believes this. No way does he not screw the dreamers and everybody knows it.I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded.Last edited by togor; 03-23-2018, 05:35.Comment

Veruca Salt.
Trump expects a "Stormy" weekend. He always acts unhinged when there is something not going his way."The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery. They who fired it were the greatest practical abolitionists this nation has produced." ~BG D. UllmanComment

That's absolutely the slant the media will put on it, with not a word breathed about the intransigence of the Dems in refusing to compromise on the wall & chain migration--even AFTER Trump doubled the number to be included in this unjustified amnesty! Dems have perfected the old Soviet model of negotiation: "what's ours is ours to stay, but what's yours, what you're willing to surrender, on that we're willing to negotiate."Comment

You know as well as I do Trump was never going to sign anything for the Dreamers. In fact the WH went out of its way to kill a Senate compromise in the cradle a few weeks ago. This is just posturing, Trump trolling the media, who is pretty much taking Vern's ever-offered advice in this instance. And no I'm not ranting on it because I really don't care one way or the other. I don't run a dairy farm, and the guys I know who do (and who I like) don't use Mexicans to milk their cows. What I am interested in is improving my predictive model for Trump, and so far so good. But in this case, no real sophistication is required--signing Dreamer legislation into law would NOT go over well with the folks at the rallies. On this issue, that's all anyone needs to understand. That's absolutely the slant the media will put on it, with not a word breathed about the intransigence of the Dems in refusing to compromise on the wall & chain migration--even AFTER Trump doubled the number to be included in this unjustified amnesty! Was not aware that Trump had a vote in the Senate. Or even much influence over Republican Senators, many of whom go out of their way to oppose him.
Folks at what rallies? You mean the ones assembled to vilify Trump & all Repubs? Signing such a law would earn him NOTHING among these hate-groups.Comment

Transparently and deliberately obtuse.
This is the one I recall, but a few weeks before this was the famous "sh*thole countries" meeting.
At which rallies? C'mon, you can do better than that. Rallies like this:February 14: A bipartisan group of senators unveils a compromise plan, which includes $25 billion for the border, a pathway to citizenship for the immigrants, cuts to one slim category of family-based migration and prevents the parents who brought their children to the US illegally from ever being sponsored for citizenship by those children.
February 15: White House goes all out to stop the bipartisan compromise deal, which fails to get the necessary 60 votes in the Senate, with 54 votes.
If the Dems get the house then it's possible that a dreamer bill gets to his desk. As long as the GOP has the house, no chance. This spares him the political cost in some circles of a veto, which I believe he would nonetheless issue to stay tight with the base.Comment
