    Trump “slicks,” ‘em again…

Even Rush Limbaugh was telling Trump he should veto the spending bill… “because it backs him into a corner.”

The Dems were out in force warbling and cheering about how there was no money for the wall, Planned Parenthood is to continue being funded, and etc. etc..

On the other hand Trump was laughing his ass off. His tweet about possibly vetoing the bill greatly increased the audience for the fake signing presser and he knew that 1) The bill he had already signed was not a “budget,” and in fact puts off a real budget for two years! 2) All that money going to defense… can in reality be spent on just about anything including a “Border Defense Wall.” 3) Since this is not a budget, he doesn’t have to spend it all and can return unspent funds to the Treasury, you can say goodbye to Planned Parenthood.

In accordance with section 7058(d) of division K of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018 (H.R. 1625; the “Act”), I hereby designate as an emergency requirement all funding so designated by the Congress in the Act pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, for the accounts referenced in section 7058(d).
The details of this action are set forth in the enclosed memorandum from the Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

    DONALD J. TRUMP

If I'm reading this correctly, Red knows guys who wish Trump would declare a state of emergency and rule by decree. Good to know.

Like Obama did, and like Hillary said she would.

Yes, when Obama declared martial law that one time. Here's one of the videos that predicted it. Look at all of the heavy equipment on the move! We saw it coming but it still made no difference, because we had been disarmed when he repealed the Second Amendment months earlier. How time flies!

I think since Bill Clinton, each president has declared a state of emergency to expand Executive powers. Trump is definitely not alone there. Now, what each CIC does is unique to their situation.

            An "informed source" says:

The Omnibus spending bill is not a budget, which would require the president to spend the money as prescribed in said budget. Rather, this bill only puts forth guidelines on how to spend it. This is the same thing congress did with 0bama for 8 years. And for 8 years, 0bama signed the bill then threw away the “guidelines” and spent the money how he saw fit. By invoking these clauses, Trump is doing the same thing.

I think the Omnibus is a combined Congressional Appropriations bill, a rolling up of what was once 12 separate bills in gentler times. The allocations are specific and carry the weight of law. No doubt Trump would love to ignore the appropriations authority of Congress but Obama did not.
