Makes me wonder if we would wind up with 3 looney States with 3 crazy Governors and 6 whacko left wing harlots in the Senate.

Three looney states? No, the people of rural Northern California are largely decent, hard-working (read farmers) sane individuals who are every bit as pissed off at the s**t that goes on SF, Sacto, and LA, as the rest of pre-libturd America is. You'd wind up with one blue state, one purple state, and one red state (who has the water but is forced to send too much of it south).

They can split up if they want to -- we don't have to allow them into the union.

Technology and such aside, just what is it that Billionaires couldn't buy 25, 50, or 200 years ago that they buy today? I would bet J. Paul, Getty could have bought anything that existed during his lifetime. So if that is true today it has always been true.

There has always been rich people. and, there has always been poor people, and there will always be winners and losers in life's lottery. That's the problem with Socialists and communists. They think they can bypass reality and make everybody rich when in reality all they can do is make everybody (besides themselves) poor.

Dick: I wouldn't be too sure about that. If they split up, all the illegals, druggies, and leftists will pack up and head north. What's left in southern California would be a total mess and would become broke overnight... no more freebies and no more handouts so why would they stay?

Actually an interesting question, Red. Putting technology aside excludes a lot, because the toys for billionaires are better than ever. Paul Allen for example has possibly the coolest toys imaginable. But my point is that more and more, in my lifetime at least, you see billionaires openly funding pet political causes. Some on the left, but most on the right. And yes, I agree the rich have called the shots far more often than not in history.

If I won a 500 million lottery I'd have things done my way.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

I think it's the reverse. The difference is this: whereas the "infamous" Koch Bros. are vilified continuously in the media and even in Congressional hearings, when was the last time Bloomberg, Soros, etc. were ever made the target of the same kind of attack? Answer: NEVER! Except on sites like Breitbart, which is obviously NO competition to CNN, MSM, other TV networks.

There is the precedent of West Virginia separating from Virginia. And in Northern California they've had the State of Jefferson movement since the 1930s.

I'm probably wrong, but, I thought President Lincoln separated Virginia.

Did his wife know about the separation?
