    According to the Chicago Tribune...

... as of Oct. 9, 2017 there were:

Nearly 3,000 people shot in Chicago so far this year.
I think it is interesting to note that nobody is telling us about what kind of gun was used or that it ought to be banned.

All guns, Red. The push is on for FFL's to be Illinois licensed in addition to Federal. Gov. Rauner vetoed the bill a couple of weeks ago but they're trying to do end run to get it passed. Rahm and Durbin are saying it's all in the name of "common sense gun control". Those devils can sell broken freezers to Eskimos...and tax them on it later.
    2016 Chicago Cubs. MLB Champions!

Most likely all the guns used were probably illegally owned. Which means that more laws won't clear the streets of said guns.

Yep , and the dip shiets passing those laws won't care . Just as long as they can continue rocking the boat taking on water .

Obviously not true. Sometimes a given law doesn't meet its objective, but other countries have proven that it is possible to have far fewer guns in criminal hands. Of course that has the undesirable side effect of fewer guns for us so we oppose the idea. But the idea that changing the rules changes nothing is pure nonsense and you know it. If it wasn't true, then you wouldn't care what the rules were. You don't realize it but all you're really saying is "half measures don't work", which is an invitation to more sharply drawn laws.

there you go again thinking you know what im saying/thinking. damned boy are you just slow between the ears or whats your problem? again you also failed reading comprehension. notice i said laws dont deter criminals. you want to speak of other countries, well they all have laws, and they all have crime. maybe the types and degree of their crimes is different, maybe you like england where knives and acid are the main weapons. as for half measures, yeah they are all half measures, since ciminals dont obey laws and only decent people do, they are halfassed measures to be precise. until you liberal sissies will allow the rest of us to enable our criminal justice system to actually make punishment fit the crime , its only ever going to be halfassed measures.

They are already licensed, as every "business " is. They are most likely also licensed by the town they live in. I had an FFL (strictly convenience, not really in business) back in Clinton's day. Soon the state and the city were after me, I dropped the FFL. You must be speaking of a license just to sell guns?
The Pol.'s in Chicago always claim the bad guys buy the guns in Indiana legally, but never explain why they do not go after the Ind. gun dealers, as there is no way they can be bought "legally" and carried across the state line. And the pro-2nd. Amend. people never ask either!

Leftyo you are an incoherent moron. I know that names are against the rules here, but like you say sometimes the punishment has to fit the crime. Your crime is deliberate and willfully uneducated dumbassery and you are found guilty as charged.

OK leftyo if you're going to parrot my arguments back at me, then let's play for real. Retired? Still in the work force? How do/did you earn your living? What schooling do you have? I'm a trained engineer, going on 30+ years at it, never missed a paycheck. Show us a glimpse of the man behind the poorly punctuated curtain.

oh no an engineer. you do know exactly how many absolute worthless engineers are out there. way too many. dont impress me. you always fall back on grammar when a thread doesnt go your way, signs of a weak minded individual. scared or too dumb to handle a discussion so you revert to nonsense. as far as intelligence, dont go thinking you are all that smart.

oh i get his little act. when a discussion doesnt go as he plans he starts in with his little grammar bs. he absolutely refuses to see the truth , only see's what his little mind has been taught. the guy is flat ignorant of way too many things, yet he likes to try and talk down to people, likes to tell others what they were saying. all signs of a fool who thinks he is brighter than he is. now he is into trying to impress us with he is an engineer, so what . there's a reason there are probably a hundred thousand engineer jokes. this is not the first time he's tried to throw that around either. he is ignorant, and absolutely blind to the fact that he is. he wants to try and run others down by playing smart boy, but if him and myself were to take any kind of intelligence test, or aptitude test, there's about a 95% chance that he would score lower than i would. maybe i dont take the time or really care about grammar and spelling on an internet forum, so he thinks im below him. sorry, but he is WRONG. he also likes to tell people to read stuff (because he is inferring that they are not capable of it), yet he himself continually shows he has a reading comprehension problem. its all OK with me, and i dont sweat him. sometimes i do like to screw with his feeble little mind though.
