North Korea says it has suspended nuclear and missile testing

    http://kstp.com/national/north-korea...ting-/4874813/

"North Korea said Saturday it has suspended nuclear and long-range missile tests and plans to close its nuclear test site ahead of a new round of negotiations with South Korea and the United States. There was no clear indication in the North's announcement if it would be willing to deal away its arsenal."

It's a long way from a done deal, but it's a hopeful sign.

We'll know it's for real when Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama and John Kerry try to claim credit.

I'm very skeptical about this. Its been reported their under the mountain testing area is unstable and leaking radiation towards the Chicoms. So nothing lost if they have stopped testing from this facility. Stopping missile testing either means they have the successful data that they need to go into production or that they have given up development of anything new. Also why all of a sudden the change of heart. The fat guy just came back from China. Did the Chicoms tell him to stop or else and if so why now and not before. I have no data but my gut feel but since Trump was elected I came to the conclusion that maybe the North Korean Nuclear program was just of front for the Chincoms. I don't think our position is the reason for him doing this.

Please, let us remember that North Korea has announced this action several times before. I has always been enough to ease the pressure from the U.S. and the U.N. Regards, Clark

No, actually they haven't. They have made and broken deals before, but never made this offer -- to suspend all work and to close a test site.

Now can we rely on their word? Who knows?

I agree, it is a bargaining chip and at this is stage it is just a ante in a poker game. The hole cards have yet to be dealt. Trump will probably call the bet by announcing that we too will halt our nuclear testing.

Let's see what comes of this. One interpretation is that the sanctions are really hurting and we have some serious leverage.

We obviously do not trust NK. Technically we are in a state of war with them since 1950. They haven't stopped shooting across the DMZ since the cease fire.

The first Soviet leader I ever thought "well...maybe" was Gorbachev. Never trusted Mao Tse Tung. Little Korean silly haircut fat boy with dangerous toys I do not trust at all.

"Suspend" is the key word. Meaning they could start up again anytime.!

Just a smoke screen to get sanctions lifted and the U.S. to move all artillery out of the region (again). Obama, hillary and kerry would take this bait hook, line and sinker and expect a Nobel Peace Prize for "look what I've done".

All countries want nukes. No country is going to just give them up.
