Gov. Christie's Painting To Cost $85,000 Which Is More Than...

...the combined cost of the paintings of the last 3 New Jersey governors.

Of course, Christie's portrait will require much more paint.

And a much wider canvas, too.

And the average hourly wage is $26.82. So what's the point?

Wages have risen only slowly in recent months. The average hourly earnings of nonfarm employees stood at $26.82 in March, up from $26.11 at the same time last year.

Perhaps it should be an outdoor wall mural.

He was a lot better Governor than his two Democratic predecessors-or the current one.

Re: Painting. To borrow a phrase, "Much ado about nothing." It's that simple. A portrait of the former squatter in the white house is now in place in Washington where such portraits are displayed. It is not likely that that portrait was done gratis. Doubtless many of us would have considered a Polaroid snap shot sticky taped to the wall sufficient. Christie was not a right wing conservative. If he had been, he would never have been elected. He was the Republican candidate that the demokrats wanted to defeat ... and couldn't. It is fine to be unhappy that he didn't produce the results one might have wanted. But one must also be realistic and consider just how much worse it would have been had the demokrats won. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

Always thought Churchill had the right idea; he burned the painting of him that Parliament had done for him. Silly waste of funds and he didn't like it.
