    Steve Hornady

Announced that Hornady was pulling sales of ammo to New York State and other agencies, presumably police departments as well. Hornady is asking other companies to pull their products also. As consumers perhaps we as a group should prod other companies to do this as well or consider them as unfriendly to firearm owners. This worked with S&W many years ago, perhaps Glock could be persuaded as well.

That just deprives the few that own guns legally.
I don't think it will bother the criminals any.

thats a good start, now if we could get the other ammo makers to stop selling to communist states. my data is old now but 5-6 yrs ago hornady had something like 6% of the market for ammo total and an even smaller chunk for sales to LE.

Unclear to me how the numbers stack up in this showdown, but New York is not Texas.

Probably more of a sales pitch to the other lower 47.

With their new critical defense line, leo"s are picking up on it.

yes and no. some that adopted it got rid of it quickly as they were experiencing jamming, and the rubber plugs falling out of the hollow point of the projectile. im sure they still have a share, but as far as the ammo market, hornady isnt much more than a bit player.

Chinese proverb states that a journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step. This is the first step in showing the economic terrorists that they are in the boat too. WE as consumers can pressure the other companies to go along with Hornady on this as well as other gun companies. Companies must be made to understand that THEIR PRODUCTS is what is under attack as well as THEIR BOTTOM LINE!

ATK and Olin would seem the big suppliers for agency ammunition, in NY, or any other state. Definitely this is one to keep an eye on.

An absolute brilliant observation!!! I have thought for my entire lifetime that New York and Texas are the very same place. I would bet that Art and others didn't know that there was any difference between the two.

Hornady's action is merely symbolic prompted by understandable frustration.

What confuses people is Texas is next door to Louisiana, and New York is next door to New Jersey.

For factory ammo they may not be as large as the others, but bullets for reloading...they have a strong share there.
