Who Thinks Kim Will Give up The Nukes?

After Libya and watching the way Trump tries to unravel the Iranian deal, why would he? I hope Trump isn't blinded into thinking he's got something there.

He'll give up the nukes that we know about.
He'll keep the ones we don't know about.

Doesn't matter, the US still will have a sub prowling "somewhere" in that AO. Before judgement is passed let's see what happens as the movie is just starting.

If it doesn't matter, then why make a big show of it? See, this is my problem with the whole approach to NK. We don't know what the heck we want out of the deal. Whereas the NKs no exactly what they want. But if I'm Asian and I'm reading Trump, I very much get the feeling that he wants to pull the US out of the Western Pacific and retreat behind some two-ocean frontier. Well why wouldn't the Chinese or the NKs (and the SK leftists) seek to oblige that?

Meanwhile Trump wants to play "get tough" with China, but strictly on a bilateral basis. If you really want to get tough effectively with those guys, you assemble all of the smaller fish in the area behind the American banner. Therein lies a huge hole in Trump's game, because his whole career has been about Trump and Trump alone (look at the name of his company and the senior staff if you need a further clue). Trump doesn't do multi-lateral.

Finally, Trump people love him for his attitude, and don't care that he eschews homework. OK, fine, but going up against the Asians, he's dealing with the people who have pretty much perfected the art of ACHIEVING SUCCESS THROUGH THE DOING OF ONE'S HOMEWORK. Trump's bluff & bluster work by sowing uncertainty and doubt in the minds of his counterpart. The answer of course is to study every possible move on the board that Trump has available to him, and understand the ramifications of it. A complete grind but not a problem for people who have the Confucian imperative to grinds things out practically imprinted on their DNA.

If I'm looking at America from across the Western Pacific, I'm seeing an administration that is very much plotting the decline of the US as a power in the region. Now maybe against indications, Trump will prove a cannier negotiator than one might be led to expect. I hope this turns out to be true (sorry Red but I don't want the Orange One to fail), but I am genuinely concerned that he doesn't understand the larger ramifications of what is at stake here. The high tech aspect of our economy, which pretty much drives everything else, is totally integrated with Asia. How that happened can be saved for another post but sorry, no, it wasn't because liberals wanted it that way.

I wouldn't blame him if he insisted on keeping them.
It's an unsure and unsafe world we're living in and
his own Military might dump him if he dumped his nukes.

Reading your first statement, I am reminded of "I can fix that!"

My Gwad you are a fool. Why do you think Kim "developed," the bomb. Only an idiot would think he was ever going to use them. He is 100% well aware of _AD (MAD minus the Mutual). Do you think he wants to commit suicide, and developed the bomb in order to provoke the U.S. into killing him? He doesn't have miniaturized bombs on ICBM's with MIRV capabilities, he might get off a couple of primitive nukes but his destruction would be assured.

Let me spell it out for you: HE WANTS ANOTHER OBAMA IRAN LIKE GIVEAWAY AND THEN HE'LL TAKE UP RESIDENCE IN SWITZERLAND.

Quite trying to be always wrong... you are becoming boring.

Who are you kidding? How many people has Kim eliminated since he ascended? Plenty! If he goes to Switzerland or anywhere else his enemies will find him and they will kill him. That's how it is with the worst of the despots.

                  We'll see.

Observing too. Since when did the word T-o-g-o-r become code for 'shoot on sight'? Sorry guys, but I read what he had to say. I don't agree entirely, but he's welcome to his opinion as an opinion same as the rest of us. Just sayin'...

Still way the off target. If Kim opens the border and let's his people out of that god forbidden Hell hole, he will become a hero and can go anywhere and do anything he wants. He might even get a job with MSNBC.

Come on JB. Togor is just as anti American as Adolf Hitler, Nikita Kruschev, and Fidel Castro.... combined. And yes Adolf, Nikita, and Fidel had the right to express their views.

Riddle for you Red....is it anti-American to say that anyone who disagrees with your political position is anti-American?
