The Arab "street" that the media is always talking about? (Approvingly, by the way.) If you spend most of your day in the "street," planning or preparing for some kind of demonstration, uproar, riot, etc., it seriously interferes with holding down any kind of gainful employment, or making any useful contribution to society.

Never heard of a French, German, Japanese, Korean, etc. "street." Wonder why?

People looking for work, & willing to work, travel from India & other parts of East Asia, & especially, the Philippines, to work in the Arab Emirates & other rich Arab countries. But maybe Palestinians, with their reputation for trouble-making & incompetance, might not be wanted there at all.
