No doubt this garners one of Vern's trademark insightful replies, but I think this is a good opportunity to register an important point. One doesn't need to be a political extremist to find Trump dismaying. One can simply believe that if running the Federal Government like a mom-and-pop commercial real estate operation is such a great idea, then someone would have thought of it before now.

This administration reminds me a lot of one of those gimmick systems that periodically shows up in sports. The new thing takes the league by storm...for a little while...then forgotten. Well if anything serious brews up, I'm sure Rudy G. and all the fine Manhattan folk at Fox News are ready to pitch in.

Sometimes you don't have the luxury of doing deals with friends, people you get along with. The Iranian regime had a nuclear enrichment program going for weapons-grade material. Sanctions were put in place to slow them down. Getting the Russians and Chinese on board was not so easy. People who make it their business to understand such things say that after the agreement, the Iranian enrichment stopped. So did the Iranians use their enrichment activities as a bargaining chip? Maybe. Does Trump use Qualcomm chips and their impact on ZTE as a bargaining chip with the Chinese? It would appear so. Give me something in return for me doing or not doing something in the future. According to Red that is not a deal. Trump disagrees.

Has Trump in his business career ever bought at the top of a market? Sold something at a loss? Absolutely, yes! Does that make him a bad negotiator, or is it a case of if you're going to do deals some won't turn out so well? I think it's the latter. Of course to the politicos here, things are much more black-and-white than that. In the alternate reality, everything Obama ever did turned to sh*t and everything Trump does comes up roses.

And Togor has a P.38 he's selling that was carried by Rommel himself in the attack on Tobruk in 1942. Special price of only $4,000, and only to people who are true believers in Trump, who want to Make America Great Again, and who don't need meaningless trivia like papers establishing provenance because they know that belief triumphs over reality every time.

And those people know this how? They see empty buildings and say "Gee that's where Iran enriched uranium, so they had to stop or that building would be a busy place." Could it be the process was moved inside a mountain these people haven't seen??? Or is it possible that Iran used $50 or more billion cash to buy already processed plutonium from Pakistan, Russia, or China? No verification is needed, right? Other than that empty, unsigned, promise, what else did Iran have on the table? Not a damn thing and you think that is a deal.

In the alternate reality, everything Obama ever did turned to sh*t and everything Trump does comes up roses.

OK tell us one thing that Obama ever did as President that was a success. Obamacare, the "Shovel Ready Jobs?" the Clunker buy back? Fast & Furious? improved relations with Russia and China? Withdrawal from Afghanistan? 2011 budget Control Act? Gay's in the Military? Violence in his adopted home town, Chicago? Improved military readiness and moral? None of those things worked, so what did? How about healthier breakfasts and lunches in the schools... you know all those carrots and stuff? That actually worked because there were more carrots and green veggies that went to school lunch rooms and into the dumpsters than ever before!
