As in a literal political disunion? Perhaps, in the centuries to come. Ironically those regions that chafe the most at federal power in a day-to-day sense are also in greatest need when the disasters strike. But people do surprising things sometimes.

No, I can see it coming with the Pacific Coast states wanting to go their own way, maybe New England too.

Personal opinion: The EXTREMISTS (on both sides) will scream for separation. They will be opposed by the people who actually use their brains.

Maybe each State will contain people of a particular language.
e.g. California = Spanish. etc.
Probably run out of States before getting to English speaking people.
We'll have to go to England. Oh, wait , they speak Arabic.
