Now That is one clean steam engine ...

That LMS engine brings back memories. Back when I
was around ten or so, there were seven main line
Stations (terminals actually) in London, and for a
penny you could get a Platform Ticket allowing kids
like me to venture to the far end of the platform.
This is where all the engines were, being shunted around
to get ready to take out the many trains. Hoards of
boys with their notebooks and train spotters guide were
noting down the engine numbers amid the smoke
and steam. The Drivers and Firemen were friendly
and would sometimes allow a boy or two into the cab.
The Engines weren't as clean as this one needless to say.

I've always had a liking for steam locos. My father is absolutely fascinated with them. For me it something so, let's say 'outwardly mechanical' about them. Behemoths when standing along side them as a kid.

Question for the ex-pat. (that's means you DT) Regarding the ER on the front, how does one spell Elizabeth in Latin? I know the R plays dual roles for Rex and Regina.

No idea JB. I took French in school and in that language
      Je M'appelle Pierre.

As for trains. Going on an overnight sleeper being lulled
to sleep by the movement and click clack of the rails
(before they were welded) was fantastic.
And eating in the dining car was a delight.

Nobody loves steam trains more than I, & probably few still living have ridden more miles on trains of all types, but MUST you contaminate my brain with more mindless hype about the Mulatto Duchess??? When I've been constantly changing TV channels for the last two weeks to avoid seeing or hearing anything about this mass-idiocy???

Yeah, The Welsh probably thought they were safe.
            Nowhere's safe any more.
They're also making boys wear skirts instead of shorts.
They say it's cooler. (but beware leaping ferrets)

Oh, and I didn't mean to bring her up - It was the Train.
I'm just as sick of all that stuff as you are.

I can remember one of many tube trips in from Hendon to visit The Imperial War Museum with my Grandfather. We sat on a bench on the pavement not far from the museum to eat sandwiches when a coal powered train went over a nearby bridge. My Grandfather said it won't be long before they are gone ... never forget it.

Ya know DT.... there are friends of yours on this forum that would say that you and I ... are not "real Americans "

OK.. as this is aimed at me... I don't want illegals to benefit "me".

I want Americans to stop whining, come to work more than three days in a row, pass a background check that doesn't involve multiple drug offences, felonies etc. etc.

and I want past alcoholics who post BS pictures of their Diplomas with " penciled in " cum laude on them to let me and DT converse about trains with out interuption from a fake ignoramous

Is that the age of consent in Ohio or just disclosing?
