    Hand wringing, wailing and blaming past peoples is not going to help,
    we are where we are.
    Aren't these scientist slash experts wonderful, the way they tell us what
    we should have done, but not until after we've already done it ?
    And why is it I find an expert in my toilet bowl each morning ?

    Well, it seems to me there's only one ethical course of action for the author -- he should go into the woods, commit suicide, and let the li'l woodland creatures eat his body.

      Wondering if the link is busted because what I read was no apologia, just a matter-of-fact accounting of documented impacts. DT seems to have an axe to grind towards science.

        They blame the Spanish and English? The French, Dutch, Portuguese, and Scandinavians must have been real sweethearts back then because they didn't use plastic.
        The authors have some facts but they're playing connect the dots with a broken pencil.
