El Cid must be groaning in his grave ...

He died keeping the Moors out of Valencia and thus
    his beloved Spain. (Great Movie)
He wasted his time it seems as the modern authorities
are surrendering the town to African migrants.
Looking at that lot jumping up and down I doubt if
there are any Doctors among them. Or any other kind
of useful ability. No, just a bunch of future welfare
recipients which Spain can hardly afford.

Italy has been overrun along with the UK and other
    European countries - now it's Spain's turn.
    Will they ever learn ?

Well, maybe Ferdinand and Isabella are "groaning in their graves," but the real Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar died in 1099, almost 400 years before the last Muslims (and the Jews) were driven out of Spain.

He actually was known to fight for the Muslims on occasion, thus his honorific title given him by "the sons of the Prophet," El Cid (the Lord.)

Movies do tend to "tidy up" things a bit but it was a great movie. Heck, any movie starring Charlton Heston and Sophia Loren has to have something going for it. Probably the most historically accurate movie Heston ever did was "Khartoum" which documents the beginnings of modern "Islamism." Definitely worth watching. The areas of history it modifies are insignificant and the personalities of the main characters are extremely well drawn by Heston, Lawrence Olivier, Ralph Richardson and Nigel Green, among others.

Lined up for the first of many free meals. Everyone else is wearing face masks. I wonder why.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Best scene is when Heston and Loren, decide to go to exile and start a family.
Heston opens the door and all you her is: "El Cid, El Cid" from the encamped army!

It seems that the Brits and the Europeans have decided that their cultures are without value. Why else would they invite certain annihilation? Regards, Clark
