This time it's Laura Bush wringing her hands over those poor unfortunate wetback brats taken into custody--purposely brought by their parents who thought having them with them would increase their chances of being allowed to stay in the country illegally. No such problem for them when Bush was Gov of Texas--he welcomed wetbacks as cheap labor for the factories & ranches of his millionaire friends.

Why can't the Repubs put together the same kind of side-show at the border the Dems have been staging? I'd happily ride a bus there to hold up a "Keep out the invaders" sign.

What about American citizens who commit crimes, the same no separating for them? Equal justice under the law, or Justice is Blind? Yes, illegal entry into the US is a federal crime under U.S. statue.

No--because there aren't enough prisons for citizen criminals. No good security in an urban mall. A stockade surrounded by barbed wire on a military base would suffice.

Better yet, repeal the laws & rules which allow these invaders the outrageous LEGAL privilege of staying in the country for months before they can have their "hearing"! Foreign invaders don't deserve a hearing; not that they ever show up for them anyway. If they were returned the same day they're caught, there'd be no need for separating them!

It's stupid to call them invaders. They're human beings trying to escape a situation that you have never personally experienced, and probably a good many are baptized Christians, if that means anything to you. The problem is better solved without resorting to all of the "vermin" talk. People do dumb things when they're bent out of shape for hot-button reasons, and the BCP guys need all the brains they can get. Their job also sucks, so letting them take job frustrations out on the defenseless, as an unpaid "perk", is not part of the solution either. Save the over-the-top rhetoric for brain-dead twits like Allen.

Incidentally, I LIKE Mexico & Mexicans (the ones, that is, who aren't wetbacks demanding their "rights"), & would never call them vermin. THAT term has to be reserved for the rabble flooding into Europe from Libya, which we were so good as to "liberate."

I dunno Boggs, just trying to come up with an expression that neither demonizes or celebrates these people, without it becoming twisted like some euphemism. You're welcome to play too if you like. You yourself have stared into the abyss with your cancer, so you know that it's by the Grace of God that your fate is decided. If this is really a Christian country, and if Christian ideas are suppose to inform the laws, then it hardly seems too much to expect our BCP employees to do their job without needlessly adding to the burdens these people face, even as we can't give them what they want.
