    Each day getting closer...just saying

    screensaver-snow-falling.jpg

Can't wait for the Amish crew to start on our remodeling, looking forward to setting in the greenhouse drinking a cup of Good to the Last Drop and watching the snow fall through the windows. Will be relocating our wood burner into the attached greenhouse.

Snow falling through the windows? I reckon the Amish are good carpenters but they aren't very good glaziers.

And with that snow falling through you may want to relocate that wood burner under your butt to stay warm.

        See the importance of punctuation??

A comma after the word “fall” would change the meaning completely.

Not picking on you, Sam, but I sure wish everyone would proof-read their posts before actually posting.

Sam, just out of curiosity, have you done much business with the Amish? When I was selling batteries (1994 - 2005) one of my best customers was the Amish community in Cantril, IA. I got to know them well enough that when one of their "Elders," died I was invited to the funeral.

Hey, I try but sometimes no matter how many times I proof read my comments I screw up. Some of it is old age. Some of it is mind over matter. Sometimes you just don't see your error but of course everyone else does. As long as I can tell what someone is talking about that is good enough. Life is too short to dicker over a misspelled word or two. I had enough of that sht in high school.

Allen, it's quite simple. One can double check their writings, but someone else needs to actually proof your words. We know what we wrote, know what we mean, and know the inflections we intend. So, when we read back we read from memory and it isn't always what others are seeing and comprehending.

Never had the pleasure of social intercourse with them, one thing that I like is their reputation in business.

This is one of the designs that we are contemplating for the sitting room. For the room roof instead of glass we plan on using Solexx material and thermal efficient windows. The Solexx will diffuse the sunlight to brighten the room and no solar hot spots to burn the plants, a soft glow instead and it is heat efficient with a thickness of .20 caliber. It is not cheap at a cost for a 12" long by 4' wide is $7.85 delivered, it comes in rolls cut to the length I need. The attachments I can get locally, it is hail proof, UV stable and can support a heavy snow load. The frame will be 2x6 dark stained set on 24" center. In front of the room I have 40' pines which will make a nice presentation as the room will be built on a slope.

This is what my kitchen will look like, instead of this type of stove I am installing a propane grill in addition to a stove. The wood will be reclaimed planed to thickness and then stained, I will build the cabinets out of the same wood. Lighting will be LED and the stove will have a built in wood smoker with an outside vent. The only vice I have is baking and cooking which my family loves. My earliest cookbook is from the 1840's that my late mother in law gave to our daughter. My wife is gluten and lactic intolerant so I have to redo recipes to keep her from getting sick.
