+ 1 for Texas. It is a really good idea to know the law in your state before you record. In a two party consent state the penalties for recording a folks without their knowledge can run from mild to catastrophic. There was a blow up in the Monica Lewenski case over phone recordings in a two party consent state (Maryland.)
In the case in the OP: It is a really good idea to record interactions with the authorities where there are any allegations, or potential allegations of wrongdoing. Unfortunately the kid didn't know enough to tell the Principal he wanted to record the conversation.Last edited by Art; 06-23-2018, 02:52.Comment
