    Roseanne, reboot

I see where they are trying to reboot Roseanne without Roseanne. That is not surprising considering the same people are trying to reboot America without Americans.

What will they call the new show ? "The No Roseanne Show" ?
    Yeah, that'll be a hit.

It's liberal-a$$ ABC. They WANT it to fail. Rebooting the show is probably a way to honor contracts for the co-stars to keep from getting sued for breach. I'm just surprised that they aired the program in the first place knowing that Rosanne had become pro Trump.

It might work if they kill off her character. They did the same thing with Valerie Harper and the show went on for several seasons afterward.

She's the main character though. That would be like "The Tonight Show" staring Johnny Carson w/o Johnny Carson. Captain Kangaroo w/o Captain Kangaroo, etc...

Another Allen-y thing. Tonight show with....Jay Leno? Jimmy Fallon? Is it still on the air?

I suppose from this comment you are comparing the original Tonight show with Johnny Carson with todays version of Tonight. (Allen didn't mention either Leno or Kimmel in his post...). BTW Captain Kangaroo had a larger audience than either Jay or Jimmy.

To set the record straight, 5,800,000 viewers would be a truly great night for either Kimmel or Leno. They are usually around 2.3 million. 58,000.000 was a great night for Carson.... 10X by my math.

Johnny Carson had 3 channels to contend with.

Maybe Rosanne will get a nature show and can pick up where Jane Goodall left off, being a Ape expert now and everything.

Allen, Valerie Harper was the main character as her show was called "Valerie". They killed her off in the script and the show continued just fine with the rest of her TV family. Not that I was a viewer but my wife at the time was. In her opinion the show was better written without her.

The 'new' show will be called "The Conners". Probably will do just fine. I didn't like Roseanne anyhow, but John Goodman Was great!

As Yogi said, it's deja vu all over again. I looked it up and snipped this from Wikipedia:

Harper was written out of the series after the second season because of a dispute with the show's producers. Sandy Duncan joined the cast as the boys' aunt, who moved in and became their surrogate mom. During the show's third season (Duncan's first as the show's star), the series was known as Valerie's Family: The Hogans, and finally as The Hogan Family.
They bumped her off second season and the show continued through a sixth season without her. Damage control, a well scripted salvage operation, and everyone made money.

Reminds me of a time when a carpenter sneered laughingly at the general foreman, "Oh you won't fire me. I'm the best carpenter you've got". (He probably was too)
He was still chuckling when the GF returned with his lay-off check. "We've built a lot of buildings without you. I'm sure we'll manage without you on this one."
I'm unable to put into words the shock and disbelief on his face, but I'll always remember....LOL
