All that tremendous weight took it's toll on that old building. Besides of "no injuries" the good news is nothing appears wet in the pictures and from what I read in another article they were searching to see if any of the barrels had burst open so apparently little or no bourbon was lost.

Under the provisions of NAFTA, in an emergency, Canada will supply oil to the USA at the same price that Canadians pay. If the bourbon is destroyed, then I am certain that my countrymen would be prepared to follow a similar doctrine and help out our thirsty American neighbors by selling them rye whisky at the same price that we pay. Of course, if Mr Trump kills NAFTA then you'll just have to drink California wine

Canadian blends is all I drink regardless of the cost. The warehouse collapse would be a good place to start pilling bourbon to dispose of it.

                        And now this.

The rest of the rackhouse storing Barton 1792 bourbon barrels collapsed nearly two weeks after an earlier collapse in June. It's unknown whether any bourbon spilled out.

I don't get this. Isn't there any money in booze? Did they keep those rickety old buildings because they looked cute?

Bourbon is aged typically from 4 to 12 years in the barrels. Constantly rotating stock means having a strict inventory control. Each year they send off 4 year, 8 year, 12 year (whatever labels they sell) stock for bottling and distribution. The racking and aging becomes a tradition so the older the buildings the "better".
What I don't know is...would moving stock from one facility to another disrupt the natural aging process? I think if they realized failure was imminent they might have built another and phased the batches into storage until the older structure was eventually emptied.
For all I know someone said, "It's been OK for 100 years so why bother fixing something which aint broke!" FWIW, I generally see the Barton's label on raffle tables and in the well. There might be a lot of well water specials in the gin joints for the next 10 years.
