Just a few steps away from Book Burning ...

    Fahrenheit 451 anybody ?
Or maybe it's 1984 where history gets revised.
Pretty soon all you'll be able to get from your
    library will be Winnie-the-Pooh.

I'm at a loss to understand this latest glorification of Blacks
by the democrats when it's their party that has destroyed
the Black family and kept them in poverty.
Democrats were the ones who voted against ending slavery,
and they have done nothing to help Blacks, ever, yet they get
the Black vote at every election. Puzzling to say the least.

There are literally hundreds of books banned in this country for various reasons. The oldest are Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. Both are literary classics. For a complete list check this out

Worse than bookburning (because the PC Police can never get them all) is destruction of historical monuments. Locking Confederate monuments up in warehouses off-limits to the public, or merely removing them to locations not readily accessible to the public, is as good as destroying them.

Guess they wouldn't like this book either but they are still available. I got mine long ago. The manager of "Books-A-Million" ordered it for me back before the days of the internet.

Yes, but, most of these "bans" have LONG since been revoked, assuming they were ever enforced in the first place. Can you imagine ANY book being banned or even criticized today for profanity, promotion of socialism & homoism, which are some of the reasons given? Hell, books defending & "normalizing" homoism are required reading in many elementary schools!

On the other hand, say an ill-word about any "minority," & into the dumpster goes your book. Only Mark Twain's literary reputation has saved his, though he's still denounced by the most radical types--too ignorant of course to know that he was a FAR-leftwinger by the standards of his own day, who viciously hated Teddy Roosevelt.

Far from being banned, many of the writers on the list and their books are still on the required reading lists of Universities.

When will they ban the works of Shakespeare? After all it's homophobic dontcha know. The writings call gays 'odd bedfellows' and that's just plain wrong. Also, there aren't enough black characters in the stories. Strike two!
                2016 Chicago Cubs. MLB Champions!

What about Sherlock Holms? Anytime his investigations reached a dead end, he said he was "up Queer Street"!

In its time, The Grapes of Wrath was considered an advocacy of socialism; that sure ain't a problem anymore!

DT when the Democrats embraced the cause of civil rights they alienated many white people who now vote Republican. Many but not all were in the south. Trump's dog-whistle messaging on race has a certain appeal in the north as well. It lets people know where he comes down for example on black lives versus blue.

I know you're just having fun with us here because of course it's not puzzling at all. Minorities aren't stupid. They know which politicians are more likely to let them twist in the wind.

Of course, she is, & the mindless rabble who sent her to Congress love it! But what's amazing about the media reporting of this incident, in particular Trump's tweet about it, is what has NOT happened! ANY derogatory reference to the intelligence of a "person of color" ALWAYS, except in this case, generates an enormous tidal wave of furious, outraged, accusations of racism, but I haven't heard one peep of that. Evidently, not even the media, which adores her, or fellow Dems, are willing to go on record as defending her intelligence.

Just like our dems, the national dems do not want to hear anything that is contrary to their beliefs. They will do anything to prevent opposition. Regards, Clark

The leading Democraps are really embarrassed about this. Even Chuckie Schumer, a low life POS, denounced her. None of this seems to have bothered the beautiful, brain-dead Maxine. She went on another idiotic rant today and loves being in the limelight.
