Who is biker and who ain' t, is not the point. Who produces what and who buys it where is.

Harley apparently sells about 45,000 motorcycles/ year in Europe. I don't know how much revenue that produces, but we buy something like 75 million metric tonnes of Aluminum from Europe and much more from China. We should lead the world but they subsidize their products in many different ways including tariffs on our products. If we lose some Harley sales, it is a pittance. We can fight a war without a single Harley but if we can't produce aluminum or sreel we are done for.

The truth of the tariffs is not being told, how other countries are allowed their protectionism but the Us must not do so in kind.

They look to US to fund their socialist dreams.

HD is stock owned, and in business to make as much profit as they can. period. Stock owners generally give zero whits about the long term health of a company. THat's just 'how it is" IMO.

There has been the love/hate relationship between bikers, riders, and the owners of HD for decades. That will never cease.... oh well. I ain't going to solve it.

Me, I hope that the bikes continue to sell. There are great deals on good used bikes nowadays. I still love my '08 FLHT, aka "Sparkie" (yeah, name gets me some crap from some... oh well), and don't really care what others think. What's that make me?.. donno, don't care really.

IMO the "news" is trying to smear whatever Trump does. Trump don't stay quiet about anything, never has.
We'll see.

I was in Brussells last month. There were motorcycles everywhere. I heard exactly one HD. It woke me up from an afternoon nap. I looked out of my motel window, watched it pass and smiled.
Then, I was in Liberia for about 10 days.... never saw a HD there, though... just swarms of 100-200 cc bikes, I'd guess 75% cheap Chinese built ones. WHen they are completely kaput, they just tossed them off the road into the brush.

There were lots of HD FLH Police Specials when I was there.

None of them ran.

One of the DAO squids bought one from Doe.

Took it back to the Embassy and got it working in short order. Nice Shovel with a pogo police seat.

It flew out on a CH53.

Cool tale. '90 may well have been a dicey time to be there. Wifey's parents were in Yekepa, then. I was always glad to be out of Monrovia, but liked some things about Yekepa, e.g. loads of fresh fruit.... but well the water......

Yeah, true. The American-Liberians (what they are called, I am given to understand), that returned after the not so Civil War were not boy-scouts, had been/are greatly resented by the tribes, and their time came, and were tossed out of office(s). What replaced them was full of tribal matters. That diamonds were discovered fueled other bordering countries to keep matters stirred up for their own profits, too. It was a mess, and still is, somewhat.

Still getting caught up with what happened while I was away. It appears you guys hate Harleys now, according to the Dear Leader. Let's see how that plays out.

My machine was a BMW R100. Wanted something with a low center of gravity. Still have it, but in derelict condition. Easy to work on, except that the factory oil cooler made changing the oil filter a 90 minute bitch of a job with 4 separate gaskets. Krauts and their love of parts, LOL.
