Another crazy action by Iowa

Iowa is going to close all pull over parking areas along the interstate highways. Also going to close 30% of rest areas. Supposedly saving 30 million dollars by 2030. I guess if you hafta pee you are going to have to pull over alongside the highway and let'er go. Pooping would be a bigger hassle tho.

Does Iowa have problems with thieves, hookers, and dope dealers frequenting some of those rest areas? Often times "saving money" is just the excuse they use when they can't fix something. So they eliminate the maintenance and overhead costs by shuffling costs elsewhere. In this case, the diners and filling stations will have to handle the burdens of cranky fatigued drivers, car sick kids, crapping dogs, and loiterers. All the while their restrooms are trashed and merchandise is pilfered.
That 30 million dollars...are they going to reduce the cost of your vehicle registrations at all? (rhetorical Q)

Have frequently enjoyed rest areas on the interstate. Bean counters close such stuff to save nickles and dimes. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.
