The Cave system - way, way worse than imagined ...

    A FIFTEEN INCH PASSAGE ???
Forget my idea of a retrievable canister.
I'm thinking this isn't going to end well.

Add that to the map provided in the other thread and it looks very bad. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...ve-rescue.html

They have plenty of equipment and some very skilled hombres on the scene. It says they tried accessing via vertical shafts with no joy. I surely hope the pics and videos aren't the last time their families see them alive.

I've been praying for this mission. It doesn't look good.

4 out so far, let us pray that the remainder fare as well.

Been thinking about that 15" passageway.
That must be a huge exaggeration.
I'm not big, 140 lbs (and shrinking) but my
shoulders measure 20" so there's no way I
could get through and I'd bet those Navy Divers
are a lot bigger than I am.
Anyway, hats off to those guys. Incredible job.

I think I saw on one of the many articles I read where they were using a jack hammer to bust the rock to make the 15" opening larger. That's when the rescues began.

In a tough country like Thailand he may have some splainin' to do.

Eight of the 12 safely out so far. The coach might want to stay underground -- 'cause they're gonna beat the crap out of him once they get him to the surface.
