Muzlim attack

I was thinking just a couple of days ago, we were kind of overdue for a crazy muzlim attack.

-Faisal Hussain, the man identified as the assailant in Sunday's deadly shooting rampage on Toronto's Danforth Avenue, had severe mental health problems, according to his family.-

That's because they are inbred and brain damaged.

So far, although he has been identified as a Muslim Pakistani immigrant who lived most of his life in Toronto, nobody is referring to him as a terrorist. That may yet happen. One of the witnesses that I saw interviewed last night commented that he was handling his pistol as if he had been well trained on it. Given our fairly tough requirements for obtaining a handgun and given the fact that he had a long history of mental illness, there is no legal way that he could have obtained one. That leaves open the possibility that he was radicalized, trained and armed by someone or some group. Time will tell. At least his family appears not to be involved. His parents are apparently horrified by the incident and have offered their apologies and sympathies saying that they had been doing their best for years to have his mental illness treated.

The SOB shot about 13 people and killed an 18 year old woman who was about to start training as a nurse and a 10 year old child.

Although the event happened in Toronto and I live in Ottawa, it all feels close to home. I know the area well and have been to dinner there with my family many times. I keep thinking that the 10 year old could have been my grand-daughter. My daughter lives just off the end of Danforth Ave where the shooting took place.

This is why I say, if you don't have a Concealed Handgun License -- get one! If you have a CHL and don't carry ALL the time, START!

My cable provides one of the Toronto TV stations, so yesterday I had the pleasure of hearing the mayor's rant against not just handguns, but ALL guns. Little later had the even greater pleasure of hearing a Canadian-born Muslim go even further & demand a total handgun ban in Canada, & strictest possible regulation of long-gun owners.

In this day and age it really makes one wonder. Are those his genuine feelings, or is there an ulterior motive? In regard to the latter I see two possibilities right off.

1. Call for disarming the public to better further a future jihad. Or.......
2. Jumping on the liberal side of the aisle (in a liberal city no less) for fear of reprisals against the Islamic community at large.
