Is a Constitutional Convention in the cards ? ...

Sounds like it's being seriously considered by many
conservatives. Trouble is, if the last one is anything
to go by, they can quickly get out of hand and then
everything could be up for grabs.

Lawmakers push for ‘constitutional convention’ to restrict federal government – and it’s not as far fetched as it sounds

Be careful what you ask for, it might not be what you get! Can you imagine an article written in allowing Obama to run for election again?

Read the current Constitution -- especially Article V:

      Article. V.

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

In other words, any proposed new Constitution, or any proposed amendments to the current Constitution must be ratified by 3/4s of the states -- just like any amendment proposed by Congress.

It is one thing to propose radical changes, another thing entirely to get them ratified.

A call for a Con-Con means the liberals get their say-so too. Illinois's last con-con was in 1969 or 1970. (Can't recall when it passed.) Look at how well we're dong here now. *gag me*

The 'Rats, like all of their totalitarian forefathers, enforce rigid orthodoxy and party discipline. The GOP takes diversity of thought to the point of not getting anything done. That is the danger.

Okay -- but anything a convention produces must be ratified. And each state gets ONE vote. That means Arkansas has as many votes as California. And there are more Red states than Blue states.
