I know I shouldn't be this way because this is for the most part a pretty good forum. But it has gotten to be that when an opinion is posted, even if it is done in jest, those that disagree stoop to name calling and deriding. It seems that civility has gone by the wayside here too. So I think I'll just stick to reading on occasion and leave the bickering to the kids here. And no, I won't respond, might not even read, any response to this. Just going to set in my corner and watch and keep my mouth shut. I don't mind face to face disagreement and discussion, but not into hiding behind a screen and calling names. So you all carry on without me. Yes, one more has been run off due to things being taken way too serious sometimes.

Hate to see you go Marty but I can surely agree. Things can get ugly very quickly and it happens more often than not. I've done my fair share of tongue biting and bailing completely out of threads too.2016 Chicago Cubs. MLB Champions!

Marty as one who takes a lot of flak from certain regulars, all I can say is that it's OK to not take it personally. The haters win if they drive you away. It's better to laugh at their attempt and show them that:
for all of their hot air in your face,
you have nary a hair out of place
Hey, almost like a poem! Wow how many years since I wrote one of those?Comment

Yes, I saw on my "Sun" thread where Red blasted you for no reason.
That's Red, he forgets to take his meds every so often and so has
a fit and takes it out on someone. Ignore it, like you ignore CNN or MSNBC.
I left here once, but as you see I came back.Comment

Having been here quite awhile I have seen a unpleasant decline with the quality of some folk's postings. I do not believe that the Major nor the Swede would of tolerated this. Gun Talk has long been a Cracker Barrel forum where like minded folks came to enjoy one another's conversation. Not always did we agree but being gentlemen, this did not prove to be the problem as it all so often seems lately.

It used to say at the beginning of this forum.... Turns out that was only a one sided statement .... and this was never a Cracker Barrel...... political forums should never be a place exclusively of like minded souls...
...if it were, that would mean everyone was brain washedComment

-and that's when the fight started. This is a conservative slanting site. Some of the posters are less than erudite. Not PWC particularly. But Sand has a point and I agree somewhat.
Togor, you liberal, left wing, poetry writing weirdo.If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

Left = Right
Subscription to an ideology is pure laziness."The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery. They who fired it were the greatest practical abolitionists this nation has produced." ~BG D. UllmanComment

Hey, it's free and entertaining, you get what you pay for. If a guy says nothing offensive or disturbing, send him a message and be done with it, I have been called foolish and juvenile.
Don't bother me a bitComment
