The Manafort case is all about money ...

Nothing else. He made lots of money and cheated on
his taxes. So who doesn't ? The national passtime in
Italy, Japan, and many other countries is who can cheat
the Tax Collector, out of the most money.
Like I said before, he needs to be aquitted because the
only reason he was prosecuted in the first place was to
squeeze him into turning on the President. He didn't
much to his credit. Trouble is, it's a liberal enclave so
the Jury may well be liberals with an axe to grind.

Hypothetically, if Obama cheated on his taxes, would you give him a pass? Warren Buffett? Trump, obviously, but George Soros?

The lady who testified about fudging Manafort's books, under immunity from prosecution, got canned by her accounting firm. She's ruined professionally by her association with Manafort, but Manafort himself, by virtue of his association with Trump, should go scot-free?

What did you think about Enron, back in the day? An enormous fraud of a company, keeping multiple sets of books, just as Manafort did. Ordinary people got wiped out if they were unlucky enough to have their retirement savings plans overweighted in Enron stock. Some of the top guys got a little time, but their time in prison did nothing to put money back in the hands of working people.

What about Bernie Madoff? All he did was lie about money. Not all that different than what Manafort did, right? You'd be OK with letting him walk? Or maybe not, because he had no affiliation with Trump?

We won't rip open everyone's books to examine for fraud, but if we don't punish it when we find it, especially if we find it with the fingerprints of well-connected people, then you've eroded a basic measure of trust in the system that underpins our entire economy. There's a reason that rich Russians and Chinese try to get their money to the west. They figure it's the best place on Earth to put it and not have it be taken away by government fiat or outright fraud.

If it were just one charge, but to make sure of
a conviction they laid a bucket full of charges against him.
