    Russia's Kalashnikov builds a car ...

If it works like my SKS then the only maintenance it will ever need
is a good cleaning and oiling.

Travels 350 km on a single charge. That's fine for a local grocery getter but I sure as hell wouldn't want to travel any further. Only 200+ miles then stop to plug in.....and wait? Give me 5 minutes to gas up, clean the windshield, and go another 350 miles. Repeat as needed. Thank you very much.
Forget to plug in overnight and there is no stopping for a splash 'n go in the morning. How many times will forgetfulness result in, "You're Fired!" Heck, a local power outage means you can't even bug out to a motel.

I know he didn't invent the SKS, but I don't own a AK.
Actually, the SKS is a little more accurate and they're
both semis. And if you need more than ten, you're in serious sh!t.

One problem with the electric car, other than its range, its high cost and the time it takes to recharge the battery is that while the car may be pollution free in its operation, the generation of the electricity to propel it is, in may cases, not pollution free. Electricity generated by coal or diesel generators certainly is not pollution free and then there is the issue of disposal of the battery at the end of its useful life...... Things are not as simple as its proponents would have you believe.
