Did Alexander the Great just die ? ...

or was it George Washington ? Maybe Churchill ?
Judging by the never ending tear inducing accolades
that have been going on non stop for over a week now
it simply has to be one of those guys.
I thought they were dead already. My mistake I guess.

I could explain it to you, DT but then you'd have to drink a glass of polonium-210 tainted water.

Yep. Me too. I am outraged because I think it's outrageous.

If that's how they want to send him off -- if that's the legacy they want him to have -- who am I to gainsay them?

Turn off the TV, stay off the internet.

Just an example of the news media's push for liberalism. In a few days things will be quiet and few will even remember who he was.

I would like to do so, if I, too, were a darling of the left-wing media.

Don't be too sure about that, esp. during the next election--a (phony) Republican who hated Trump as much as he did is too valuable a campaign asset to ignore; his recorded Trump-bashings can be recycled endlessly.

I will be sure to tell my daughters not to do to me what his daughter did to him. His legacy is a pissing contest with another politician.

Presumably then, the first one to die - loses ?

Did Sen McCain ever actually do anything? Never really heard of any major legislation credited to him. Nothing against the man but just curious.

McCain-Feingold, which of course everyone here automatically hates.

No, he died quite a few years ago. You and Palin must've both been uninvited to his funeral?

I was in Singapore -- which is run by Lee Kwan Yew, who was prime minister from independence on. He retired, and they created the post of Senior Minister for him. Everybody knew, Lee Kwan Yew still runs Singapore.

A rather famous local writer, Dr. Catherine Lim, wrote a piece for the Straits Times, rather delicately outlining the relationship between the Prime Minister and the Senior Minister. The next edition of the paper carried a hot response from the Prime Minister, who denied the Senior Minister had any influence on him, and ended up by saying, "If Dr. Lim wants to write about politics, let her run for office!"

That took my breath away! Ordinary people are not ALLOWED to write or speak about politics? Only politicians can discuss politics?

Shortly thereafter, McCain discussing the McCain-Feingold Bill said the same thing in virtually the same words.
