87 Elephants slaughtered in "Sanctuary" ...

    Some Sanctuary.
Like I said in an earlier post about Rhinos which reaped some
stupid reply about me wanting us to declare war on Africa.
These animals need protecting from the poachers, otherwise
there won't be any left except in zoos. If the local Africans
can't do it which they obviously can't, then some kind of
international cooperation has to be discussed so that adequate
financing can be arranged. It's going to cost a lot in order to
afford the kind of protection these animals need.
It will need an extremely well equipped force - maybe the UN
could get involved and do something useful for a change.
But I doubt anything will be done until it's too late which it may
already be as far the Rhinos are concerned.

Conservationists found 87 elephant carcasses while conducting a wildlife survey in the country.

And what to do about the Nations that encourage poaching
because of the lucrative Ivory trade should be addressed.

Poachers are only half of the problem--the other half are the corrupt gov't officials who protect them by preventing prosecution even when the perpetrators have been identified by wildlife orgs. Marketable wildlife simply has no hope of survival in black-ruled countries.

Contrast this with the gov't of India, which has made great strides in protecting wildlife, despite having a rural population that is as impoverished as those of Africa. Just watched PBS special on how Asian lions are tolerated by local farmers, even when they occasionally kill livestock, & there's no poaching of wild Indian elephants. It's the difference between a poor, but civilized, country & the Dark Continent.

The answer is to make sport hunting pay for elephant conservation.

It would be nice if the Indian men treated their women with the same reverence as they afford their sacred cows.

There's about 7 billion people on the planet. 3-4 billion would be a more manageable number.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

African wildlife does not stand a chance. The dems only pay lip service to the problem. More funds to stop the poaching only goes in the pockets of the corrupt African governments. The dems defend them and turn a blind eye to the corruption, as they love that atmosphere. The only way to stop the poaching is a serious anti-poaching force that is run by non-Africans. No penalties, no jail terms, just bones drying in the sun. Nothing else will stop the extinction of the large mammals. Regards, Clark
