Shameful performance in today's confirmation hearing.

Don't mean the Dems usual disruptive tactics, which this time verged on rioting; from them, such behavior is to be expected. Likewise, the visitor's gallery packed with violent protestors.

I mean the shameful performance of that poor pathetic weakling & incompetent, Repub Chairman Grassley, who allowed the Dem Senators to run all over him, to treat him like a child, when a leader with a backbone could have shut them up for speaking, or rather shouting, out of order. THIS is the best leader Senate Repubs can find? He ought to be in a retirement home.

Trouble is you can't just get up and punch the loudmouth democrat in the mouth,
so if Harris or whoever keeps shouting, there's not too much Grassley can do about it.

My hands would have been around the neck of Kemala; that name says it all.

But there are established rules of order, which if violated, can result in, at the very least, the offender's microphone being turned-off. But surely it lies within the prerogative of a committee chairman to ask police to remove a disruptive committee member, & it most CERTAINLY lies within his power to clear out disruptive spectators & lock the door behind them.

A whole bunch were arrested, but big deal, they'll be released straight away.
Nothing ever happens to these people.
What should happen is a $1,000 fine or some time in the nick.

The Democrats are acting like Nikita Khrushchev, pounding on the podium at the UN with his shoe.

Of course, they KNOW they can get away with it! Like the mobs who "make their point" by blocking traffic at a major intersection; they may be arrested, but charges against them are ALWAYS dropped by prosecutors who don't have the time or inclination to take them to court, because they will be defended by ACLU lawyers whose strategy is to overload the court docket with frivolous appeals.

Let them fuss. Most important thing is to get the appointment finished before Nov. Come Nov. it is questionable if the House will remain Republican. Not so likely the Senate will go wrong. But, given the realities of local election boards, etc., got to wonder about the results in close elections where democrats are in control. Get the appointment finished ASAP. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

That's the bottom line -- get the appointment through.

Democrats cannot govern through democracy -- their policies will not pass, and if they do will not be signed into law by any sane President. So they MUST govern by judicial fiat.
