    Left over Socialist mole in the State Dept - he can't be fired ...

    What a job huh ? Talk about job security. So, whatever you do to
    screw things up, doesn't matter because you can't be fired so you
    can go merrily on making life difficult for the new administration.

    I didn't notice anything in the article about plans to can his arse,
    but maybe I missed it. Can't believe he'll get to keep his job, but
    this is the swamp we're talking about so who knows.

    First of all, most of these guys are so inept and worthless that the only way they can succeed is by trying to fail.

    But they CAN be fired. Congress can make all the rules they want, but they cannot restrict the Chief Executive from firing the people who work for him. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs, for example, may not be able to fire the incompetents at the VA, but the President can.

      Only people appointed by him; those in the Civil Service system are un-fireable, & even the hurdles that must be cleared to discipline them are huge; for minorities, insumountable.

        Years ago a Sheriff kept trying to get warrants, judge refused to issue any. On a bright Monday morning the judge arrived at his office in the courthouse and found it moved to the men's room on the upper level. The judge was furious and demanded to know who had the authority to move his "chambers" so he had the culprit brought to his court room. Turns out the Sheriff had the authority and only the Sheriff could change it back. The judge had no authority over the selection that under state law only the Sheriff did. Also, the judge was informed that his parking place was now a place to park the Sheriff's personal auto and the judge would have to go to the public garage. From that point on, the Sheriff got what he wanted from the judge. Same can be done to this guy, what does the rule book say about his job classification and duties. Toilet inspector perhaps?

          Toilet cleaner definite, but he has to supply his own razor blades.

            This is the sort of thing that MSM is supposed to be doing/digging up.

            But as the old saying goes;

            "Organized crime does not report on their own"

              Nope -- he can fire them, just like he can dismiss officers from the Armed Forces. But he has to do it directly.

                If he had to fire every incompetent in the government,
                he'd not have time to do anything else for all of his eight years.

                  Self Termination for the betterment of his family is an option.

                    Nevertheless, I think what would be a productive use of his time.
