Canada ...... for what it's worth

An explanation is in order. As a kid growing up two of my buddies were often given a hard time and I mean a hard time. Leonard is black, David is Jewish and I was gifted to have them in my life. It sticks in my crawl to have any bigot defame their race or religion. I have the same temperament when it comes to the ladies, I quit a gun club because women were not permitted to join or use the range without a male being present, that is wrong. Blacks and Jews as well as women have had to toe a fine line for far too long, I won't be a part of that. Blast me for what I said, I don't regret it one bit. When good men don't speak up evil will flourish was true 80 years ago as much as today.

It was the insulting snub our president offered the Prime Minister of Canada over the past three days ....

Going back to the OP, I started a thread awhile ago about this sort of thing, titled "You Hate Canada Now".

The point then and now is that Trump expects loyalty while feeling none himself, so it's easy for him to put Canada or any other country in a bad light, or for that matter Saudi Arabia or North Korea in a good light, and the faithful are expected to get in line. Most of Trump's supporters do not share his odd wiring for loyalty and so it makes for them the occasional uncomfortable moments.

Wow!! Seems a little over the top or have I missed an ongoing personal feud on here? As far as apologies go, all the anti Canada rhetoric coming out of Washington is politics and grandstanding. Little to do with the American general public in my experience.
