It takes no more than a mere second to ruin your life ...

but some people never seem to learn because their life
revolves around their text messages. And those text
messages can both kill and ruin a life.

yup, that one is local to me. until such a time comes that our gvmnt and law enforcement takes it seriously, it will continue. texters are worse than drunks, at least most drunks are trying to pay attention. feel sorry for the girl, but it is her own fault, and i honestly hope they make an example of her. cant bring back those she killed due to being stupid!!!

Our wedding reception was at the Coon Rapids VFW hall. A few years ago at least.

Sorry for the officer and his wife. Sorry for the teenager in the truck. Regardless of who was killed, regardless of their status/role in the community, she should be treated exactly and precisely as would be the case if with anyone else. The law is not in place to provide revenge, etc. Making a example of her is without merit. Treat her the same as anyone else who has an accident that results in multiple deaths. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

problem is, its not an "accident", pure negligence just the same as if a drunk killed someone. almost guaranteed this girl gets little more than a slap on the hand, while a drunk that kills someone is guaranteed a ticket straight to prison. both should be treated exactly alike. i dont much care who you are or what, but if you kill two people due to being a selfish ahole, you deserve to rot for a very long time.

One of the dead was a Cop, the other his wife.
This 17 year old idiot killed them.
She should be in her 40's when she gets out.

I'll go along with that. By then she may have learned we have rules for a reason.

And that is the point of making examples of people who do things like this -- so others may learn,

Re: "She should be in her 40's ... etc." Back when the law was the law and ltawbreakers were given real time sentences ... the good ole days ... a woman was driving a convertible downtown shopping. A fire engine hit her car. She was severely injured. It was "an accident." The city came out on top in the law suit. That lady was 32 years old. She never was able to recover her ability to walk, etc. She spent the rest of her life in a bed. It was all perfectly legal. She was legally found to have no claim. Guess the city was not to blame for a fireman who almost killed her b/c he was in a hurry. I knew that lady very well. She lived ... barely. Otherwise, the only thing anyone would have known was that she got severely injured in an accident. Nothing would have been said about the driver of the fire engine. Like it or not, the justice is not about right and wrong. It is about the law. Hopefully this girl will be treated according to the law, the same as that fireman. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.
