Al Capp was a great cartoonist and Conservative. Didn't he develop some type of cartoon character that just reproduced itself and never did anything else? This was a long time ago and if I remember correctly he got into a lot of trouble because of this.

I believe it was called a "shmoo". The current definations don,t apply to the left except stupid.
