OK... a question pertaining personal rights .....
I like my guns ...
Guns are my personal right even though the writers of the Constitution never imagined it would progress beyong the black powder single shot to a 30 rnd mag used to kill innocents....frequently .
So whats the fear of the personal rights of those who want to puff a joint .... that they may harm an innocent ? ... or themselves ? ... hmmphComment

They are not Progressives, they are Regressives. They are trying to regress us from a free and prosperous people into an impoverished dictatorship.The trust fund kids who run our government and the clown who is our prime minister are using this and the gun grab they are pushing to get re elected next year. In the "old" days a psychotic person was placed into a "strait" jacket and a padded room, now the person is simply "medicated" into a controlled person. Unfortunately this has to happen, otherwise the client poses a risk to self/others. Apparently under the term "recreational" politicians seek the same end...a controlled and docile population.

If you Yanks don’t keep Trump in and the lunatic progressive left get the house, Senate or worse the White House then we will be like the 51st state. There is some good new happening up here as the conservatives are leading in the polls for next years federal election. But that is an eternity in politics.Comment

When employers find that druggies are poor workers and require drug testing with threats of dismissal.....Comment
-
Right. Most employers will not tolerate any type of substance that will impair the mind of a worker. When I worked at the refinery they would give random drug test. Pot usage would get you fired along with many other drugs and pain killers even if prescription.Comment

The legalization of pot up here is supposedly being done to;
1. Stop criminal distribution of pot.
2. Regulate the age of users. (don't know how this works as underage kids have been drinking for years)
3. Public safety( controlling what is actually in the product to "protect consumers".
These are the stated motivations by the Liberal government here.
But it is really about more revenue for the bloated socialist bureaucracy here.
A coworker who uses marijuana tells me government prices are around 35% higher than his local weed distributor.
It is a whole nasty can of worms that the government didn't even think through before jumping on the legalization bandwagon.
It is a proven fact that a high percentage of those who begin consuming pot when in their early teens are damaged mentally by it. Often having problems with depression and anxiety later in life. Doctors state that teenagers brains are still developing and a steady diet of THC can alter brain chemistry for life not to mention a certain percentage who will look for a "better high" and move on to worse drugs.Comment

I have a friend, a farmer, who got a job on a drilling rig -- there's been a natural gas boom in Arkansas. He got promoted and kept getting promoted. He's now making over $100K a year. When I congratulated him, he said, "I was the only one who could pass the drug test."Comment

Trump puts more thought into one of his 3am tweets than the trust fund kids and the clown did making the whole pot legislation.The legalization of pot up here is supposedly being done to;

Having worked in psychiatric setting it is appalling to see a person on cannabis go down hill over the years, the stupefaction of their brain. Have seen too many walking dead who started out on a "harmless" substance and ALWAYS go to worse. The human mind is constantly looking for a repeat of that first high and never achieve it. It leads to death of the mind, then spirit and finally body. Nice girl I knew started out on weed at high school parties, went onto harder stuff. To support her habit became a hooker then got AIDS for her trouble. On her last day of life she got several bullets to her body and that cured her addiction. I have seen and treated my share of active addicts that death cured their addiction, by then it was too late.
